What is the most important skill for early career professionals? Firm leaders and clients are unanimous in their response: communication skills. Learning how to interact effectively with team members, managers, and clients is critical to career success. During this session, participants will learn how to create good communication habits, use communication to help further their career, and prepare for difficult conversations.​​

Identify why communication matters in accounting, including collaborating between clients, colleagues, and management; sharing complex financial ideas; and building trust.

Review key habits of effective communicators including active listening, clarity and brevity, consistency, accuracy, timeliness, and critical non-verbal skills.
Practice & Prepare
Apply best practices in a professional environment with a focus on written email communications, participating in meetings, and preparing for client calls.
